Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #105

January 3, 2007

Quilting Friends,

You may wonder why I sometimes write about non-quilting type things in this space.  Well, life is more than quilting, and I get so excited about some of the neat ideas I can share with you, my quilting buds.  I hope that you can use some of these ideas and that they make your life better and give you more quality time for what’s really important….quilting!

Here’s one:  I’m thrilled to find out that we have an important new tool against Identity Theft.  We can now “freeze” our credit in Florida. That means that no one can steal your identity by opening up new credit sources in your name.  It takes a bit of work, but imagine if you didn’t do this…cleaning up after someone messes with your credit can take years!  Take a look at the following webpage and it will explain everything:

A friend of mine, Barbara Clark, is selling her longarm quilting machine here in Central Florida.  Give her a call if you're interested...we'll miss your wonderful machine quilting, Barbara!!
Gammill Longarm Quilting Machine - 12' table, no stitch regulator. Includes horizontal channel lock, dual thread holders, laser light, needle positioner, stand alone bobbin winder, assorted pantos and supplies. Selling due to startup of new business out of state. Serious inquiries only please call Barbara Clark 407 260-8192. Will email photo upon request.

Well, we have one foot out the door…we should be in Key West by January 16th.  But we’ll have internet access most of the time, so keep in touch!  Let me know if you want to access our 6 month travel blog.

As always, if you have email changes, let me know:subscribe @ FloridaQuiltNetwork.com

Kudos to sewing teacher Marilyn Bollo and her beginner students at Melbourne High School.  Together, they produced 26 delightful and well-made quilts to be given to children in the area who needed a special hug and the comfort of a quilt.  The sewing students showed real heart for this project, “Threads of Love,” despite the fact that they cannot meet the children who receive the quilts.  This wonderful project was funded and sponsored by cooperative efforts of the Florida Cabin Fever Quilters Guild in Orlando, and EduQuilters, a quilt education group in Satellite Beach.
