Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #107

www.FloridaQuiltNetwork.com

February 27, 2007

Quilting Friends,

Well, I hear that Florida has had some mighty fine quilt shows this season, I hope you were able to get out and see one or two.  Somehow I seem to be on the opposite side of the state every time.  Last weekend I was in southwest Texas and there were two shows on the east side of Texas.  I console myself by getting to every quilt shop my family has patience for.

We’re in Carlsbad, NM today, and will be driving up to Roswell this afternoon (the kids have an hour or so of schooling this morning).  If we don’t get beamed up, we’ll head over to the White Sands NP tonight.

This newsletter comes to you a few days early.  I wanted you to have time to plan to get down to Okeechobee to see their new guild’s quilt show.  Sounds like they are doing their best to put on a great show.  See the post after the Calendar section.

You may remember that I’ve listed a couple of longarm machines for sale in the past.  Well, they were sold so quickly from those listings, that I’ve decided to include a regular Classified Section in this newsletter.  If you have something sewing or quilt related to sell, consider an advertisement in this newsletter.  There are over 1000 interested readers in Florida and beyond.  The charge is $50 for your ad, which will include two listings (two consecutive newsletters) for a single ad.  Please send your ad to ad@FloridaQuiltNetwork.com, and look for a reply from me with instructions for sending the payment.

As always, if you have email changes, let me know:subscribe@FloridaQuiltNetwork.com

QUILT SHOW IN OKEECHOBEE

Hello,

My name is Belinda Boyles and I am the president of Okeechobee, Florida's TANTIE-QUILTERS. We are having a quilt show on March 3, 2007 from 9am to 3pm. We will be raffling off a red- white-&-blue quilt that is hand quilted. We will be having door prizes, refreshments, fabric sales, and there will be quilts for sale by individuals. We would love to have the word put out about our show.

This is my first time doing anything of this magnitude and so far I have learned alot. I know we will have a good show but I want better than good. I want it to be so good that people can't wait to come to the next one. Alot of our residents are temporary. They only come here for the winter and most of them are gone by the end of March. That is why it is really difficult to get this together in a timely manner. I was just appointed President in November and that is when we became a non-profit group. So we are really new.

If you could post our show at any time it would be greatly appreciated.

We are TANTIE-QUILTERS, Okeechobee, Florida 34974. We are located on highway 98, across from the Okeechobee airport. We meet and will have the show in the Historical Society Building.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at this email address or Belinda Boyles, 928 NE 104th Ct., Okeechobee, FL 34974  863-357-0166
