WHITE SPRINGS – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park will present the 23rd Annual Stephen Foster Quilt Show and Sale October 21 through 23, 2011. More than 200 quilts and a special exhibit of Heritage Quilts will be on display during this three-day show.

This year’s theme is “Fostering a Legacy of Quilting.” An exhibit of quilts over 25 years old will be displayed in the Stephen Foster Carillon Tower. Demonstrations will be held throughout the Show. To foster the legacy, children will have a special section on display in the Museum and will be invited to a special tea for their efforts.

Quilts will be displayed throughout the park, in the Stephen Foster Museum, the Stephen Foster Memorial Carillon Tower and the park’s auditorium. Quilts will be judged by Nancy Mahoney, a renowned fabric designer and author, whose quilts have been featured in national and international magazines. Also available at the show are boutiques, quilting supply vendors and food.

The 23rd Annual Stephen Foster Quilt Show and Sale is sponsored by the park’s Citizen Support Organization and Lady of the Lake Quilting Guild. Buses are welcome. We would like to announce that, due to circumstances beyond our control,  our August 20th Quilt and Fiber Art show has been postponed until December 3-4 in Historic Cocoa Village. This will make the event a two-day show for the same price….!

The event will be an indoor show taking place on our usual Craft fair weekend. We have about 150 artists and craft vendors that will set up booth spaces on the streets of our Village and the quilt show will be indoors. This will be our 30th Holiday Craft fair and we are very excited to add the Quilt show event to our schedule.

Applications and additional information available from Catherine at cocoavillage@bellsouth.net

Thanks a million for your time.

Warm Regards,

BeSewCreative Quilt Retreats

I am from West Virginia and have a new quilt book published on a new quilt technique; Square-agonals; A New Angle on Quilting". It is a new technique for creating on point/diagonal set quilts without cutting any triangles or doing any math calculations.

I will have the opportunity to be in Orlando the first two weeks of February (February 1 through 15, 2012) and will be available for a limited number of bookings at guilds, shops, retreats. Since I will be in your area my fees for any booked event will be the event fee and traveling expense will only include car rental.

My events are:
A one hour lecture/demo/trunk show on my book and technique

A three hour class on a "Square-agonals" pattern not included in my book (several patterns available to choose from)

A full day of class (3 hours, lunch, 3 hours) on a "Square-agonals" pattern not included in my book (several patterns available to choose from)

I am also willing to adapt an event for your guild. All information about myself, my book, and my technique can be found on my web site and facebook pages listed below.

Since I am only accepting a limited number of bookings, please let me know as soon as possible if interested.

Thank you.
