Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #191
August 11, 2014

Quilting Friends,

Another 2 weeks of traveling brings me back to this newsletter a little latter in the month than I like to publish.  Oh well, summer in Florida…what can I say?

Last month I asked you all to check the listings on the Guild Page to see if your guild  info was up-to-date. And you responded in droves and I so appreciate that.  It’s nice to know someone actually reads this little missive at the top of my newsletters, LOL.    Take a look now and see if I got it right.

Now its time to check your favorite Quilt Shop info: does it contain all the right info and even more important, is your favorite shop even listed on the Quilt Shop page?  Summer travels are not over and I’ve been told this Quilt Shop page is invaluable to those who shop hop on their own.  I do not delete shop listings that have closed their doors, because website visitors might think I just don’t have it listed and then might waste gas looking for the place.  Instead I stamp the listing with a Closed {date} for clarity.  I hope that helps you in your travels!

From a reader in Deltona/Deland: I have lots of bolts of fabric that I bought from a lady who had a quilt shop and was moving away and had to get rid of it.   If you are near Daytona to Debary area come and see it.  It is first rate Kauffman, Benertex, P B and J etc.  $3.00 a yard
Give us a call: Ruth at 386-561-9594 or Nelle at 386-561-9594

To get a complete, organized, hotlinked listing of all the Florida upcoming shows, retreats, workshops, shop hops, exhibits, etc, please visit the Calendar
Happy Quilting,   Mary-Jeanine
PS: I love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime!

There is a lot going on at StitchCraft in Boca Raton in the upcoming months...

With a month left to go, StitchCraft is hosting our annual summer challenge!  Stop into the shop to pick up the challenge fabric and make something to enter!  Three categories include (1) quilts, (2) wearables, or (3) objet d'art... there will also be a Best in Show and Viewer's Choice.  The top prize is a BabyLock 'Rachel' sewing machine!!  All entries are due by 5pm on September 2, 2014 and will be judged by qualified outside parties; All items will be on display for public viewing after September 6, 2014 at StitchCraft.

We also have Kaffe Fassett scheduled to come to our shop this fall.  World famous for his contributions and innovation in the textile arts, including needlepoint, knitting, fabric design and quilting, Kaffe will be lecturing and teaching a class October 2nd & 3rd 2014.  We are still working out the details, so sign up for our newsletter at StitchCraftBoca.com and friend us on FaceBook for all the exciting news and sign-up availability as soon as it is available.

But wait... there's more!  Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company will be coming to StitchCraft as well this autumn.  Scheduled to join us last year, family obligations made her Florida visit impossible back in 2013, but she's on the calendar for November 7th, 2014 and we look forward to sharing her with you then.
