Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #192
www.FloridaQuiltNetwork.com
September 2, 2014

Quilting Friends,

For those of you who have been with me since the beginning (January of 1999!), you know I started this monthly newsletter while I was Program Chair for my local quilt guild.  I was looking for a mechanism that would allow quilt guilds all over the state to communicate, network and share the considerable travel costs of bringing in national teachers to our neck of the woods.  FQN has expanded from that one spark of an idea, and now I’d like to think we are the one-stop-shop for all things quilty in Florida.  But I still love when I can facilitate inter-guild communication.  To that end, here is an email from the Lakeland quilt guild, looking to share national teachers:

Our guild meets the 3rd Thursday of the month in the evening and we are looking for guilds in FL. to share national teachers. If interested, please contact Jacqui Anderson at 863 858 1630 or email  me at sewbizzy67@gmail.com. Thanks.

I am often asked if I know anyone who repairs quilts.  And I don’t!  So if you or someone you know is in the business of repairing quilts, please let me know and I’ll share the info with those who ask.

I’ve been cleaning out cabinets and closets this summer, and found a batch of UPCs from packages of Hobbs batting.  If you belong to a quilt guild that makes charity quilts, you may not be familiar with Hobbs Charity Program.  They will send you rolls of batting for your charity quilts at a discounted price if you send UPCs.  Read more here.  Anyway, if you’d like about 10-15 Hobbs UPC labels, drop me a line and I’ll send them to you.  First come, first served.

To get a complete, organized, hotlinked listing of all the Florida upcoming shows, retreats, workshops, shop hops, exhibits, etc, please visit the Calendar
Happy Quilting,   Mary-Jeanine

PS: I love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime!
