Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #194
November 5, 2014

Quilting Friends,

I just heard the BEST idea and have to share it with you, especially if you are heading up an upcoming quilt show: put photos of all the show quilts on Pinterest, complete with descriptions that you collect for the signs.  Of course you’ll have to ask permission on the submission form, but what a great way to get more viewers and real-time comments!  Here is the first Quilt Show on Pinterest (that I have heard of, anyway):

The Museum of Florida History just closed the 33rd Annual Capital City Quilt Show. But, this year, we put all of the quilts on Pinterest. Every one of the 107 quilts is viewable for free on the board here.

From a reader in Deltona/Deland: I have lots of bolts of fabric that I bought from a lady who had a quilt shop and was moving away and had to get rid of it.   If you are near Daytona to Debary area, come and see it.  It is first rate Kauffman, Benertex, P B and J etc.  $3.00 a yard
Give us a call: Ruth at 386-561-9594 or Nelle at 386-561-9594

To get a complete, organized, hotlinked listing of all the Florida upcoming shows, retreats, workshops, shop hops, exhibits, etc, please visit the Calendar
Happy Quilting,   Mary-Jeanine
PS: I love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime!

Quilters Workshop of Tampa Bay announces its 2015 Quilt Show

For over 35 years quilters, fiber artists and fans of quilts have looked to the Quilters Workshop of Tampa Bay for one of the finest quilt shows in the region. Quilter’s Workshop’s 2015 show will prove that Quilting is a Celebration!

The 2015 show will take place Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th  at the Salvation Army Community Worship Center at 1100 W. Sligh Ave. in Tampa. Times for the show are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. Admission is $7.00

In addition to an outstanding collection of NQA Certified judged quilts, this year’s show will also include a Creative & Classic Small Quilt Auction on Saturday, our Celebration! Challenge Quilts and Boutique / Basket Walk. QWS’ legendary Tea Room & Café will return, where all our food is home made by the guild.

This year’s Raffle Quilt is Sunrise Celebration, a colorful Florida take on Sarah Vedeler’s embroidered appliqué Sedona Surprise design. Alive and vibrant in blues, greens, pinks, oranges and purples, Sunrise Celebration is a stunning, phantasmagoric example of embroidery, precision piecing and long-arm quilting which must be seen in person. Raffle tickets will be available at the show. The winner need not be present for the Saturday afternoon

The Salvation Army Community Worship Center is one mile west of Interstate 275 at the Sligh Ave. exit and is immediately across the street from Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.
