Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #240
www.FloridaQuiltNetwork.com
October 8, 2018

Quilting Friends,

If you know me at all, you may know I am a member of a Catholic church here in Altamonte Springs.  In 2 weeks, we will host the largest church fall festival in Central Florida.  We welcome about 125,000 people over 3 days, and I’m lucky enough to be a part of this awesome community-building event.   If you live anywhere nearby, come by and ask for me…I’ll give you the grand tour!

If you’re a fairly new reader of this newsletter, you may not know that the Calendar page on the website is a quick way to view upcoming events all over the state.  Give it a look-see.

Happy Quilting,
      Mary-Jeanine
PS: I’d love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime.

FROM KAREN STOCKWELL

I have exciting news!  I’ve been asked to teach classes on a quilting cruise April 14-22, 2019 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.  We leave from Pt. Canaveral, FL and spend 7 days exploring Labadee, Jamaica and Cozumel.  But we still have time for 3 days of quilting.
Classes, including pre-cut kits and sewing machines, are included and so are the port taxes and gratuities.  The ship is gorgeous, the food delicious and the ports of call are exotic.  We’ll make 2 projects—a Gershwin’s Music wall-hanging and a Double Wedding Ring throw, and with each, you’ll have your choice of colorways to make it truly your own.
Besides the great quilting classes, you’ll be able to shop in exotic locales, go to the beach, visit ruins, you can choose from an array of side trips at each port.  There are Broadway-type shows in the evening, a spa, a gym, a pool…many tempting opportunities on the ship itself.
So bring a group of friends (a great idea for a retreat?) or make new friends among the fellow quilters.
QuiltandCruise.com has told me that they have a special perk for anyone in a guild I’ve visited – so just mention me for even more surprises.
So join me for fun in the sun and quilting on the cruise.
