Quilting Friends,
I’d like to welcome the members of five different guilds to this newsletter this month. I’ve been having fun bring my brand of Stashbusting back to guilds around Florida! (I say ‘back’ because I’ve been to all of them one or more times, and they invited me again to bring a new set of quilts and quick projects to share). I’d love to visit your guild soon. I’ll be teaching a new kind of quilt starting in the fall, I can’t wait to share all the info with you in this space in September!!

QUILT TRUNK SHOW & TALK IN ORMOND BEACH
The Racing Fingers Quilt Guild is sponsoring “Her Journey”, a quilt trunk show and talk at 6:30PM on May 20 at the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, 105 Amsden Road. Admission is free and open to the public.
Molly Waddell will show several of her quilts which have won numerous awards on the local, regional, and national levels. Some of her work has been featured in the “Quilting Quarterly Magazine”, “Quilt Art Calendars”, “Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting Magazine” and “Quilters Newsletter Magazine”. “The American Quilter Magazine” published an article in March 2013 on how Molly makes quilts from her mother’s paintings. In addition to teaching, Molly is also a National Quilting Association Certified Quilt Judge and a member of the National Quilting Association of Certified Quilt Judges. Her goals as a judge are to recognize the creativity and expertise of each quilt maker, to objectively and fairly evaluate quilts and wearable arts, to give positive and constructive comments to quilters so that they may improve their workmanship and artistry, and to encourage them to stretch their creativity. Molly has judged in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
RFQG meets the third Monday of every month at 6:30PM at the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, 105 Amsden Road, for a program and business meeting, and the second Thursday of each month in room 4 of the Ormond Beach Library at 9:30AM for quilting assistance. QUILT SHOW IN PUNTA GORDA
The 13th Biennial Quilt Festival, “Gathering of Quilts” will be held at the
Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center,
75 Taylor Road, Punta Gorda, Florida
on February 21 and 22, 2020 from 9 AM to 4PM.
The Judged Quilt is presented by the Disconnected Piecers Quilt Guild of Port Charlotte, FL and will feature over 200 quilts.
It will also include a Quilters Boutique, Merchant Mall, Quilters Auction, Special Exhibits, and Demonstrations, and Opportunity Quilt, “Parasols from Paradise.” Free parking and Buses Welcome.

QUILT SHOW IN BUSHNELL
The Red Oaks Quilters is a seasonal not for profit quilt group that is located at The Red Oaks RV Park in Bushnell. We do an annually quilt show to display our work and to raise money for local charities. The show includes many quilts of varying sizes, vendors, cancer challenge silent auction, treasures auction, raffle quilt, demonstrations, and a boutique. Food is available for purchase for both breakfast and lunch.

Time: 9:00 am to 2:00pm
Place: Red Oaks RV Park 5551 SW 18th Terrace Bushnell, FL. At Boots Hall Building
Cost: non perishable food item or monetary donation to the local food bank
