Guess where I am today??? Well! I’m writing to you at the public library in Paducah, KY. Yes, I swung by Hancocks, yes I swung by Paper Pieces to grab some more papers for my current EPP project. Anywhere else I have to go? I’m saving the museum for tomorrow.
Hey! Did you see that big ol’ number up there? Yep, that is 250 newsletters. 250 missives to keep you updated with all that is good and quilty in Florida. My goal is to help guilds and groups broadcast their good news in an organized and timely way. I love hearing from event organizers when they tell me their attendee numbers are up, and I’d like to think FQN helped with that!

We will bag & tag your purchases during precutting and then you come back on Saturday, August 29th and you get 30% off your purchase (excepting the 3 Cs (Classes, consignments, & clearance(already discounted)). If you must take you purchase during precutting days, the discount does not apply. Why would you want to come during the week? On that Saturday we don't have time to help you with fabric choices. MODERN PROGRAM AND WORKSHOP IN LADY LAKE
Modern quilt designer Christina Cameli of Portland, Oregon is coming to the Central Florida Modern Quilt Guild in Lady Lake, Florida. Christina’s program “Let’s Talk Texture” is based on her newest book free motion machine quilting: "Step-by-Step Texture Quilting." You won't want to miss hearing this popular modern quilter who you may already know from her frequent appearances on "Fresh Quilting TV.”

BUS TRIP TO JAX QUILT SHOW
If you would like to take a bus with other quilters to the Jacksonville Quilt Show on September 19, send a check made out to Memory Makers Quilt Guild for $35 [which includes entry to the show, bus and tip for the driver] and mail it along with your name, address, phone number, email address, and “would like pick up in Ormond Beach” to: Audrey Purcell, 7 President Lane, Palm Coast, FL 32164. Pickup will be at the Ormond Beach Wal-Mart on Granada Blvd at 8 AM. Trip will be cancelled and check returned if we do not get 45 checks by September 1. NO refund unless trip is cancelled. MODERN QUILT PRESENTATION & TRUNK SHOW
Rebecca Bryan, of BryanHouseQuilts, from St. Louis, Missouri, will give a “Playful Color” presentation and trunk show in Lady Lake, Florida at a meeting of the Central Florida Modern Quilt Guild. Rebecca is known for her use of color, as popularized by her book "Modern Rainbow,” and the quilt “Wavelength.”

QUILT SHOW IN AMELIA ISLAND
The 2020 Quilts By The Sea Quilt Show, sponsored by the Amelia Island Quilt Guild will feature over 200 guild members’ quilted creations on display at the Atlantic Recreation Center, located at 2500 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach is ADA accessible Recreation Center. Free
The show only comes around every three years and will be held Friday and Saturday, February 21st and 22nd from 9:00am to 5pm – both days. Admission is $10 for both days, children under 12 are free. Tickets available at the door.
The show will display quilts demonstrating a variety of techniques from traditional to art quilts, hand pieced and appliqued to commercially quilted works. Holiday quilts, quilted wearables and an exhibit of a quilt challenge honoring our 30th anniversary are of special interest. The show will also offer a community quilt sew-in, offering participants of all ages the opportunity to work on a quilt for the Amelia Island community.
In addition to the quilts on display a Quilt and Fiber Art Boutique will have items for sale. Fabric, patterns, sewing machines and other merchandise will be available in the Merchant Mall from a variety of vendors. A scissor and knife sharpening vendor will be on site. The Silent Auction features wall sized beautiful quilted creations. There will be Door Prizes, Basket Raffles and Technique Demonstrations, as well.
