Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #256

Quilting Friends,

(click to enlarge) I finished this quilt a few weeks ago and I loved using my Accuquilt cutting system.  What a joy to work with all those perfectly cut pieces!  I also wrote a blog post about it and some tricks I used.

Do you know about Quilts of Valor?  What an awesome organization doing good work!  Here’s a snippet of info and a way to be a part of their terrific community:

The Florida Quilt of Valor Foundation is in need of Patriotic Quilts to award our local veterans & military members, in Florida we currently have 550 veterans, nationwide we have 11,000 waiting in our system for their QOV. We have more requests coming in for these quilts than we have quilters. I am asking if any quilters would like to make/donate a quilt, your generosity and support is appreciated. This is a moment that will change your life. I am available to answer any questions you may have, please email me at, Terry Burtchell; terry.burtchell@QOVF.org
Follow us on Florida QOV Facebook,  Twitter @QOVFoundation and visit the website WWW.QOVF.ORG click on Quilt Requirements.

A message from Mary Beth:
I have a Gammill Design Center and work station anyone can have if desired. FREE.  You would have to pick it up in Gainesville as it is too heavy to mail. I no longer have my Longarm. I hate to throw it away if someone can use it. It is old technology. Before Statler. Would only use on hand guided machines.   Makes some nice designs but not computerized.  It is 24 x 24.  If interested contact cookieflquilts@yahoo.com

If you’re a fairly new reader of this newsletter, you may not know that the Calendar page on the website is a quick way to view upcoming events all over the state.  Give it a look-see.
Happy Quilting,
      Mary-Jeanine
PS: I’d love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime.
