Quilting Friends,

Shape, polygon Description automatically generated   (click to enlarge)

This is one of my own patterns called Happy Stars made up in new ‘Dr. Seuss’ fabric.  I just love this quilt, especially the Dr. Seuss balloons in the border and the backing.  Anyway, I took the time recently to re-write the pattern.  If you have purchased the pattern from me before, the pattern works great, but I developed some new techniques that I included in the revision.  There are instructions on lots of different ways to make this one, including 2-color stars or 6 color stars, as well as outlining the stars with flat piping or pieced outlines.  You can purchase the pattern here.

Here is an opportunity to encourage a new quilter in the Jupiter Florida area:

Hi Mary-Jeanine,
I’d love to help encourage a new quilter by giving them my mom’s quilting supplies - sewing machine, irons, tables, fabrics, books, etc.  My mom’s health won’t allow her to quilt anymore.  It has meant so much to me and my family to have the quilts made with her love!  FYI her machine is a Brother XR3140 (2016).

I would love these items to go to someone who maybe can't afford to buy new but has a passion to learn to sew and quilt.

I’m only here until Wednesday to be able to accommodate a transfer, and really don’t want to just bring it to Goodwill.  Looks like you enjoy helping so many people develop their love of quilting, I’m hoping you can help me make a quilter's day.

Best regards,
Lisa Maxwell

Coming to Seaside Piecemakers Quilt Guild in 2022

January 26, 2022 Robin Koehler  www.nestlingsbyrobin.com

A picture containing text, underpants Description automatically generated        Scraplique!
Following the meeting its time to play with fabric!  We will be learning Scraplique!  In this fun and easy Design and Play workshop we will be taking orphan blocks, fat quarters you don’t know what to do with, stash and scraps and making gorgeous fun applique blocks.  We will be playing with shapes and layouts while learning the basics of color, scale and fusible applique.  The fusible applique will come from your orphan blocks.

The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m.  The Scraplique class starts at 1:00 p.m.  Class fee is $35 for members and $45 for non-members.  Contact Eleanor Moland 407-702-9144

February 23 and 24, 2022, Karen Stockwell  http://karenstockwell.com/
Wednesday, February 23, Karen will be sharing her excitement for Round Robins!   Our meetings start at 9:00 a.m.
Thursday, February 24th, Karen will be teaching her Double Wedding Ring – A Modern Marriage.  Classes start at 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.  Class fee: $45 for members, $55 for non-members. $10 pattern required for class.
No curved piecing!  No football-shaped pieces to set in! Border it, band it, change the colors on the rings!
Make it as traditional as you want, or learn how to change it up into a whole new concept.  The flexibility and versatility of this block is surprising!
In this class we’ll change the process of the Double Wedding Ring, taking out all of the curved piecing that makes this block so challenging. By appliquéing the rings, we’ll be able to focus our energies on creativity.
You can hand appliqué, machine appliqué, or fuse to create quilts ranging in size from a miniature to a wall-hanging to one for a king-sized bed. You will also learn how to prep all of the arcs so this is a great take-along project
