Quilting Friends,

I had a lot of fun designing this bookcase quilt just for me.  I started with a pattern from QuiltWoman and added personalized appliques: The pink pig because that is the name of my business (Pink Pig Productions), the globe because we like to travel, the flower because we are gardeners, and the ampersand to honor my marriage of 35 years.  And it was fun to make the books and look for selvages that looked like book titles.

[Repeat Post] A few months ago I ran a post from someone who was giving away their grandmother’s sewing room.  I know she got many responses, and I received two responses as well.  I was able to help those two people with bags of fabric and books that were given to me. I often get calls/emails from people trying to find a home for a family member’s sewing stash.  I do have a list of local ‘charity sewists’ but often those people already have plenty to work with. So I thought I could keep a list of people who are looking for stash.  Maybe they are a new sewist/quilter with a small budget, maybe they are looking to make charity items.

If that describes you or someone you know, please send me an email with your name and contact information, I’ll keep you on a list for the next time I get an offer of sewing items.  I live in Central Florida, so if you are not in this area, let me know how far you’re willing to travel to pick up from the giver.

Just one little way to share the wealth!  As we age and declutter, maybe we can bless and encourage someone just getting started with an instant mini-stash.

You may not know that the Calendar page on the website is a quick way to view upcoming events all over the state.  Give it a look-see.

Happy Quilting,

      Mary-Jeanine

PS: I’d love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime.

Cranbrook Countermarche Loom for Sale - CALL FOR QUOTE

Location: Simpsonville, South Carolina - 864-421-7317, nancygbr621@gmail.com

Must pick up from Simpsonville, SC. You need to see how to take the loom a part so you can re-assemble it.

My loom is a master's Cranbrook Loom 60", built of Maple wood; 8 harness, 10 treadle, countermarche loom.

It was handcrafted by Mr. J.P. Bexell & Son, Pontiac MI in the early 1970s.

All the parts need to be lined up when assembling it and then it snaps together. It is easy to set up and use. I

have woven rugs, as well as fine traditional pieces, such as linens, placemats, coverlets and fabric. I have

additional reeds and a bench. It has been a joy to use. I have strips of cotton fabric and wool yarn that could

be available as well.

The photographs are mainly close ups, for the loom takes up my studio space. Once I set the loom up, I need

just the stool area to work the loom.

A MONTHLY APPLIQUE UNIVERSITY

I have been teaching applique for ten years.  I now teach virtually.  I have an online teaching platform - Applique University.  It is an applique  membership group. The members receive two original patterns each month that they download and we also have two zooms a month

I would like to list it on the Florida Quilt Network website so that quilters will have the opportunity to have a monthly program.

If you would like you can check it out on      www.appliqueuniversity.com

 Thank you,

Dotty Levine
