Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #279

www.FloridaQuiltNetwork.com

March 7, 2022

Quilting Friends,

I know you are rejoicing with me that now, in the middle of a busy quilt show season, the variant has slowed down and we can be out and about again.  Thank you to all who stopped by my little corner at the AQS show in Daytona Beach to say hello.  It was so fun matching up names to faces and connecting, if even just a little bit!

Funny story: when I got home Saturday night, just totally exhausted, I sent out a quick email to what I THOUGHT was my subset list of people who regularly send me FQN news, but ACCIDENTALLY sent it to the whole list of you.  But you know what? It was a blessing in disguise because I heard about more quilt events than I would have otherwise, and yes, if you sent me news, you are now on my subset list.  So thanks for answering the call for news and all the rest of you who wrote back.  I do love to hear what you’re up to!

I try not to run more than 2 ads in any newsletter, but today there happen to be 4 different machines for sale.  There are some good deals below!

You may not know that the Calendar page on the website is a quick way to view upcoming events all over the state.  Give it a look-see.

Happy Quilting,

      Mary-Jeanine

PS: I’d love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime.

News: Helpertunity volunteers have been using the Accuquilt Oven Mitt shape to make hand puppets. They are made from 4 layers of fabric so the heads can be stuffed and sculpted. Puppet Sew&Return Kits will be added to the Helpertuntiy Charity -Volunteer basket in the next few weeks...

The puppets will be given as gifts to nursing home elders as a reward when they pack/make/recycle plastic "bottle-bricks"  - and then they can use the puppets when they video-chat with their great-grandkids and the church children.  We are also looking for volunteers to make embroidery-patch 'eyes' for the puppets that will be given to disabled children (no buttons allowed) if anyone is interested in donating embroidery-patch eyes to our cause...
