Here
I am, on our annual summer pilgrimage to Parts North, looking for cooler
weather to hike and bike. We are
currently stationed in Acadia National Park, and yes, the weather is glorious. I'm calling this picture "Beaver Heaven".
It’s
been challenging to find enough internet to make this newsletter happen this
month, which gets me thinking about why I do it. Definitely not the pay, lol. I am a firm believer in “leave the world a
little better than you found it”, and this is one of the ways I do it: bringing
quilting people and quilting information together in a unique and productive
way. YOU are the network, YOU are
the source, I am merely the conduit. I
read every email, every suggestion, every bit of news sent my way. I rely on you to be my eyes and ears
and keep me abreast of changes for the website (have you checked the
info on your guild or favorite shop lately?)
Anyway,
I’m sitting in my camper this afternoon, with no connectivity, composing this
missive and hoping I’ll find internet in the next few days to publish and check
all the hotlinks.
The
many hours I spend on this project are my gift to the quilting world! Thanks for reading.

with color, fabric and texture as you create a fabric collage in this workshop
with Nichole Vogelsinger. From choosing fabrics to discovering how to turn them
into elements that can be collaged to learning the embroidery stitches that
will pull everything together into a cohesive work of art, this class will
handle all of that and everything in between! Your imagination is the only
limit to what you can create with a few key skills! Enjoy this fresh take on
embroidery that will have you bending the rules so that you can create a work
of art that is all your own!

APQS ROAD SHOW IN BROOKSVILLE
We have an APQS Road Show on August 27th where people
can come play on the longarms at the shop and get
some great discounted rates like at a quilt show.
We have computerized longarm training for people who
own Quilt path (in September a 2 day boot camp) and people who own intelliquilter (in October a 2 day boot camp)

QUILT SHOW IN LEESBURG / MOUNT

The Fantastic Quilt Show will be held at The Venetian Center, 1 Dozier Court, Leesburg, FL on November 11 & 12, 2022. Friday hours are 9-5 and Saturday 9-4.
There will be a wonderful boutique, basket raffles, vendors, demonstrations, quilt sales, some great quilts on display and an opportunity quilt. Admission is $10.

QUILT SHOW IN LAKE PLACID
The Highlands County Quilt
Guild Biennial Quilt Show.
On February 3rd and 4th of 2023,
we will be hosting our Quilt and Craft Show Show
"Highlands Wave" at the Genesis Center 218 E. Belleview Street in
Lake Placid Florida.
The event will include over 100
quilts on display, an on-site quilt appraiser, vendors, local craftsman and
their works for sale, the Guilds own boutique, an Opportunity Quilt raffle,
antique and heirloom quilts for viewing, and refreshments provided by the 1st
Presbyterian Church Auxiliary.
This event will overlap The Lake
Placid Arts and Crafts fair which will be the 4th and 5th of February 2023 at
132 E. Interlake Blvd, so Lake Placid should be the place to be that weekend!
10,000 to 15,000 people are anticipated to attend these events.
