Friends,
I decided to have a little fun with my collection
of plaid and striped shirting. You may
know I already collect thrifted cotton shirts in reds, whites and blues, but
lately I’ve been looking for yummy greens as well. This is the second Christmas quilt I’ve made
with them so far.
Is anyone collecting quilts for survivors of
Hurricane Ian?
Are you a quilting teacher in Florida? I’ve had several guilds ask me for ideas for
programs, teachers who don’t need to fly to travel. Shoot

As your All-Things Florida Quilting point of
contact, I do get lots of questions and requests for information. Here’s one maybe you can help with:
I
have been struggling with tension problems on my Quilter 18 Janome (Tin Lizzie
Machine) for a couple months now. I have watched troubleshooting videos. I feel
like at this point I need to pay someone that is a long arm instructor that can
take a look and give me some one on one help to figure this out. I am in
Nokomis Florida, in Sarasota County. If you have any suggestions I would really
appreciate it.

Get it Quilted Raffle and Fundraiser for
Hurricane Ian

We at BQE are deeply saddened by the devastation that Hurricane Ian left on
the SW Gulf of our State of Florida. Our thoughts and prayers are just not
enough. Each day the news brings more images that we really have no words… We want to help. This year we are donating 50% of the proceeds of the “Get it Quilted at
the Show” raffle to Hurricane Ian Relief organizations. We are opening the
raffle up now and will continue to raise funds until Feb 14, 2023. Two winners will be selected on Feb 15, 2023 and quilted live by
Professional Longarmer Quilters at the Broward
Quilt Expo. Thank you for your donation and for entering the raffle.
