Friends,
I had a great time in Pensacola, teaching and
speaking. Lots of talent and lots of friendly quilters. And camping on the Gulf, yes please!
If you’ve followed me for a year or more, you
know that we like to get the heck out of Dodge…well, Central Florida…. for a
few summer months to escape the heat. This year we’re headed up to Buffalo for
a couple of family celebrations, and then Toronto, over Lake Huron and down to
Mackinaw Island, Door County, Chicago, Ann Arbor and then over to Maryland for
a quick lecture & class before heading home. Not sure how they heard about me in Maryland,
but I’m glad to oblige.
Please Read: do you know anyone in Central Florida
who will be entering a quilt in QuiltFest Jacksonville this year? Lets organize
to drive our quilts up and back home.

Includes 20+ extra #10 bobbins and variety of
pre-wound Glide bobbins—70+ white, and 8-10 pre-wound bobbins in a variety of
colors including red, blue, green, black. Also includes 2 cones of
Superior quilting thread and several stencils with pounce pads.
Includes original shipping box for machine but
not for frame. Also have an additional carriage for the Brother Innova machine
series. System has been upgraded to use with wooden rod and clamps instead of
original system using elastic bands. Will give 2 hour lesson at my home.
$3900. Must be picked up in Tuscawilla/Winter Springs. Cannot be
shipped.

Auction
Manatee Patchworkers Quilt Guild is
putting on its first online Quilt Auction on Saturday July 15th. Our
group which is 501c3 reaches out to the community to give warm quilty hugs to
other organizations like Foster Care Program, Guardian Ad Litem, The Human
Society just to name a few.
We have been around since the 1980’s
and have been steadily growing and sharing our passion and love of all Things
Quilting. To keep this legacy going we have just a few fundraisers to keep us
Sharing the love.
On Saturday July 15th we are doing a
fundraiser Auction and you can be hero and receiver. Join us at Sun and Moon
Jewelry Market on Facebook to be able to bid on these beautiful handmade
quilt items. Once you go to Sun and Moon Jewelry Market ask to Join the group,
then please answer all the questions. Once accepted, please private message
your name so that we know where to send your invoice once you win your
auctioned item.
We look forward to seeing you there
and getting some of the beautiful items that have been made with love and
generosity.

QUILT RETREAT
IN SARASOTA
I cannot believe we have the
4th Mysterious Sewing Society retreat booked for September 16, 2023!
This one day mystery quilt retreat will, again, be held at the beautiful
Carlisle Inn in Sarasota, Florida. We begin at 8:30 am until 8:30
pm. Each quilter has her own table and lots of room to spread out.
A new and exciting pattern will be created just for this retreat. We have
a ball working and playing together. We provide a lovely retreat bag
filled with fun things and lots and lots of great door prizes. Our
vendors are very generous.
Did I mention that you may also
join the retreat virtually? Well you can! We have a private
facebook page and film all day so you can watch and participate. There
are now NO EXCUSES for not having fun with us. If you plan to book a room at
the hotel, you should make that decision soon as they do fill up (it is not
high season so they are lower this time).
We have 15 people already
signed up. Most are returning guests or their friends who want to see if is as
much fun as they have heard it is.
One change this time is that
instead of creating a whole new quilt, I will be teaching you a quilt I had
published in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine a few years ago. What fun
to bring it to life in a new color combination. And this time, you will have
plenty of time to complete it that day.
When you join, you will be
added to the facebook page and when it is ready, you will receive the fabric
and cutting requirements. You just do not want to miss this.
OH, BTW, Mysterious Sewing
Society #5 has already been booked for March 9, 2024 and some are making
their plans to be there. You can sign up for that as well if you wish.

QUILT SHOW IN PUNTA GORDA
The 15th Biennial “Gathering of
Quilts” Quilt Show 2024 will be held at the Charlotte Harbor Event &
Conference Center, 75 Taylor Road, Punta Gorda, Florida on February 23,
9 AM to 5 PM and 24, 9 AM to 4PM.
The Judged Quilt Show is
presented by the Disconnected Piecers Quilt Guild of Port Charlotte, FL and
will feature over 200 quilts. It will
include a Quilters Boutique, Merchant Mall, Charity Quilt Sew and
Demonstrations.
