CALL FOR APPLIQUE QUILTERS

For over ten years, The Quilt Finder has worked with master quilters across the country to bring our customers the finest custom-designed quilts available.

We consider our quilting artists the cornerstone of our success and are proud to support individual artists and help them continue to do what they love to do.  Many of our quilters have been working with us since we started back in 1990.

We are now looking for more talented hands and hope that you and your quilt guild can help us.

Specifically, we need quilters who enjoy and excel in applique (hand-applique, preferred) and who can also draft a simple design sketch from a photo for customer approval.  Our greatest number of customer requests right now are for hand-appliqued and quilted replications of detailed home scenes.  Our "home quiltraits," as we have affectionately called them, have been featured in magazines such as Victoria, Country Living, Home, Better Homes & Gardens, and Colonial Homes as well as major newspapers and a featured segment on the Home & Garden Network's (HGTV) Simply Quilts show.

Do you or someone in your guild feel comfortable and confident in your abilities to do commissioned work, like described above?  We would really appreciate it if you could spread the word at your next meeting.  Feel free to copy this message electronically or distribute it as you see fit.

We look forward to all responses and any questions.

WORKSHOPS BY CAROLE FURE

THE  WEST PASCO QUILTERS' GUILD, INC. presents CAROLE FURE, from Danbury, Minnesota, author of SURPRISING DESIGNS FROM TRADITIONAL QUILT BLOCKS teaching her " MEDALLION QUILT" WORKSHOP. Two days, Friday and Saturday, November 17th  & 18th, 9:30 AM- 3:30 PM.  Port Richey, Florida. Now open to non-guild members.

In this exciting workshop Carole shares her method for choosing quilt fabrics and colors and reveals her quick and easy formula for determining the amounts needed for a given quilt. You'll learn how to design dozens of different quilts, each looking totally different, from a single block. In class you'll build a design of your own, learn to use fabrics and color effectively, while working on your own 36" x 36" medallion quilt.  FEE: $60 for two-day class.  Book: $12.72 includes tax. $ LOCATION: Day One: Friday, Nov. 17th, Holiday Inn Express, on East side of Hwy. 19 just 1 mile South of Hwy 52. Day Two: Saturday, Nov. 18th, Days Inn, on the East Side of US Hwy. 19 just South of Hwy. 52.

Carole will present a trunk show following the guild meeting on November 16th, 1-3 PM, at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, on the south side of US Hwy 52 about 1 mile East of Hwy 19, in Port Richey.

Contact Joan Unger, 352-666-8846 or junger@atlantic.net. for more information.

( I am tremendously excited about this lady's concepts and her book is terrific. When I first got the book about 8 months ago I wanted to bring her in. When I actually started working through the book myself I couldn't believe how much fun and how easy it can be to create your own quilt designs. I'm hearing the same thing from others who have begun preparing for her class. She'll be doing a trunk show after our meeting on November 16, 1-3 PM, followed by a two day class.  )
