EXHIBIT IN MELBOURNE

In March, Florida Tech, in Melbourne, will present the Dream Weavers Textile Art Exhibit: A Tribute in Threads and Fabric.  The exhibit is in honor of Dr. Juanita N. Baker, director of the Family Learning Program at Florida Tech's School of Psychology, and Sasha McInnes, a weaver and textile artist.  The exhibit will be held at the University's new Clemente Center. Art items for exhibit will include needlework, and a variety of fabric and textile manipulations including spinning, dying, cutting and sewing.

The tribute will include two events. On Saturday, March 1, 2003, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm there will be a Dream Weaver’s Gala Reception in the Clemente Center with a preview of this dramatic exhibit, along with music, a silent auction, and a sumptuous buffet. Admission is $50 per person.  This is a fundraising event for the University.  Funds raised will go toward graduate education and research on the reduction of violence toward women and/or children.   Please contact the university (see below) for ticket information.

On Sunday, March 2, 2003, the exhibit will be open to the public from 11am -4pm, at no charge, in celebration of Women’s History Month.
