Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #67

October 14 2003

Quilting Friends,

Some new quilt shows have crossed my desk (ok, monitor!) and I’d like to share all the info with you.

I also have some housekeeping to attend to:

*   If you are changing your email address, don’t forget to send me the new one. I lose about 30 people a month to email address changes, and I hate to lose even one!

*   If this email is displayed in a funky way…bright backgrounds, unreadable, etc, there is an easy fix.  Just send me an email asking for your FQN copy to come to you UNFORMATTED.

*   Please take advantage of my website, www.FloridaQuiltNetwork.com  I spend a lot of time making it usable and handy.  Rather than refer back to your last copy of my newsletter, consider surfing on over to this website and clicking on the Calendar page.  Sometimes people submit items that just can’t wait and I plug them into the Calendar instead of sending out a mini-newsletter.

*   Don’t forget to include FQN in your publicity…quilt shows, national teacher workshops, grand openings, shop hops, exhibits…its all good.

*   And finally, has anyone heard of a bus trip from Florida to Paducah for 2004?

SHARING NATIONAL QUILT TEACHERS

How I do enjoy your newsletter!  I am on the Education Committee for the Peace River Quilters in Punta Gorda, FL.  March 4 and 5, 2004, we have coming to our guild, two good friends and absolutely wonderful teachers from the Midwest. Kay Steinmetz and Kay Montgomery are also interested in teaching and lecturing at other guilds while they are down here and I thought you might help me get the word out.  One of their lectures on hats is so darn funny.  Not only are these gals excellent quilters and teachers, they are quite entertaining.  If you need more info on classes they teach, etc., I am happy to accommodate you.  Thank you and keep up the good work.   Phyllis Koltz <koltzc@sunline.net>
