Friends,
Although we’re pretty busy around here preparing for a fabulous Quilt Magic 2004 in Orlando in 2 weeks, I thought I’d take some time out to get you up-to-date with some interesting doings in the state. By the way, we had a wonderful, whirlwind morning accepting over 220 quilts to be judged for our show…I can’t wait to see them hung.
I’ll be doing my best to get away next weekend for a visit to the Southwest Florida Quilter’s Guild’s show in Ft. Myers. I hope to see you there!

Beach County Quilters Guild will hostess Stephanie Kimura of Kimura Patterns
July 24, and 25, 2004. She will do a
truck show for the general membership and guests on Saturday followed by a day
and a half class on wearable art (vest.)

SHOW IN LEESBURG
Feb
14, 2004 Quilting Sisters Guild Annual Fashion Show/Boutique & Luncheon
in
Leesburg.
This
is our third annual Show/Boutique & Luncheon and it will be held at
Venetian Gardens in Leesburg from 11 to 3.
In addition to the fashion show and luncheon, there will be a Chinese
Auction, Quilt Raffle, Door Prizes, our very popular Greeting Cards, and the
LaDiDah Boutique. Tickets will be available on Jan 16, 2004 and there will be
no ticket sales at the door.

QUILT
SHOW IN DADE CITY
The
14th Annual Quilt Show and Sale along with the February Farm Festival will be
February 7th and 8th from 10am to 4pm at the Pioneer Florida Museum &
Village in Dade City. Location is 1mile
North of Dade City on US 301 on Pioneer Museum Road. We are in need of Quilts for display. This year we are have The Hoffman Challenge Traveling Show
consisting of Quilts, Clothing and Dolls.
There will be a Hoffman Challenge Fashion show at 2pm both Saturday and
Sunday. A variety of quilts and wall hangings from area quilters will be
featured at the show for display and sale. Lecture on " Restoration"
& "Red Work" by Author Helga Curtis. There will also be a Farm
Fest, which includes a National Horse Pulling Championship, Chili Cook-off, Tractors,
Crafters and much more.

Caveman Style: This improvisational method sets aside
measuring, straight lines, and quarter-inch seams. Students will learn to piece free-form curves, unique frames and
borders. The finished project is a
small, individualistic, medallion-style wall quilt, which features a tulip-like
central design. All skill levels with
rotary cutting experience.

For intermediate to advanced quilters, with some free-motion machine quilting experience.
