I hope you were able to get to Jacksonville last weekend and enjoy the fabulous quilt show.  If not, mark your calendar now with some of the great shows coming up this fall.  I’m looking forward to spending an entire day at the Mancuso show in West Palm Beach.  Hopefully, my schedule will allow me a few other shows this fall as well.  See you there!

 

If you are in the Orlando area in two weeks, let me be the first to invite you to my church’s fall festival.  It is actually the biggest church festival in the area: St. Mary Magdalen in Altamonte Springs hosts our CommunityFest which runs from Oct 19-21, and includes constant entertainment, rides, games, 24 food booths, a Beer Garden, raffle for a car or $15,000 cash, Bingo, crafts, a Golf Hole-in-one and much more.  We have it all and here’s all the info.  Come by and ask for me, I’ll be there all weekend.

FLORIDA QUILT STUDY GROUP IN TRENTON

 What do southern quilts and swirling owls have in common? The Florida Quilt Study Group October meeting!
On Saturday, October 6th, Teddy Pruett will answer the question: "What makes a southern quilt southern?"  Bring any quilts you have that you think are southern or just aren't sure. We will learn what to look for as we try to sort out what may or may not be a southern quilt.

And what do swirling owls and a frog on a ladder have in common? A very unusual antique quilt you have to see to believe. See it and more at the next Florida Quilt Study Group meeting, Saturday, October 6th at the Suwannee Valley Quilt Shop on Main Street in Trenton. Doors open at 9:30am; meeting starts at 10:00am.
