Quilting Friends,
For the 4th year, my husband has organized our little loop of 20 homes to decorate with 15 foot candy canes, positioned about ever 50 feet near the sidewalk. Wow! We are now part of the “Christmas Drive” for many people in the area who are looking for decorated homes. People come by and ask to buy some, but I think he likes that we have something completely unique. He devised the method to melt and shape the pvc, wrap with ribbon, and a special system to hold them in the ground. If you are in the Altamonte Springs area, email me for the address. I want to call your attention to a BIG change to a long-standing quilt show. Lake County Quilt Guild puts on a fabulous quilt show EVERY year in Mount Dora. Usually the show is Thursday and Friday, but in 2014 they are moving it to FRIDAY and SATURDAY. If you come on Thursday, you will receive a $1 coupon off the price of admission for Friday. So don’t come on Thursday, LOL. See you there!

QUILT RETREAT IN NICEVILLE
The Flying Needles Quilt Guild in Niceville, FL will be hosting a two day retreat in 2014. The specifics are as follows:
When: Fri, Feb 28th and Sat, Mar 1st.
Hours: Classes: 9-12am and 1:30-4:30pm
Lunch: 12 – 1:30pm
Where: Northwest Florida State College, Niceville Campus
Classes: Three full-day classes offered each day (total 6 classes)
Cost: $20 registration per day plus the cost of the classes selected
There will also be a Sit and Sew each day, which is free. One of our members will be instructing an Ostrich Challenge, free of charge, in the Sit and Sew area. We will also have an area set up for working on Quilts of Valor. A number of local vendors have donated some very nice items that you may buy tickets for chances to win.

QUILT SHOW IN BUSHNELL
The Oaks Quilters invites you to come and join us at our Annual Quilt Show at Red Oaks on Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Boots Hall at Red Oaks RV Resort, Hyw. 48, Bushnell, FL. Special displays, 70 vendors, Quilt Sale Table, Silent Auction of miniature quilts, 7 opportunity quilts and Quilters' Walk. Sit and sew for a community project. Kids can make a quilt block to carry home. Demonstrations on quilting techniques. A Food Court in the main exhibit hall. Parking in the Prime Osborne parking lot is free.
