Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #264
December 7, 2020
Quilting Friends,
If
you watched me on Facebook
Live
last week, you saw me talking about this quilt.
We still have a few kits left at The Sewing Studio
if you’re interested.
I like looking at modern quilts, but don’t
often make them. I did enjoy making this
one!
I
asked a last month for ideas on organizations in California that are collecting
quilts for Fire Survivors (I like that better than ‘Fire Victim’, don’t
you?) I sent 5 large quilts to CZU Lightning Fire Quilts, and they have a pretty good
system for giving them out to those who apply. Email Helen czulightningfirequilts@gmail.com . Another possibility is To The Point Quilting,
My
thought on these gift quilts: usually the disasters in our neck of the woods
are hurricanes, and the survivors live in warm climates. I’ve never thought
that a quilt was the best choice of support.
But many of these west coast fires were in northern California or
Oregon. Yep, cold! So send them a quilt
or two!
Finally,
you may not know that the Calendar page on the website is
a quick way to view upcoming events all over the state. Give it a look-see.
Happy Quilting,
Mary-Jeanine
PS: I’d love to
hear from you, so drop me a line sometime.
