Florida Quilt Network - Newsletter #266
February 3, 2021
Quilting Friends,
My latest Quilt of Valor pulls together some of my favorite things into one quilt: Log Cabins, foundation paper pieced stars and using thrifted cotton shirts. These log cabins have been a ‘leader/ender’ project for a few years now. When I chop up shirts to use for other quilts, I cut up the leftover bits into 1.5” wide strips and save for these log cabins. A never ending pile, for sure. Oh my gosh…as I sit here and look at the quilt, I just now see a mistake…can you see it too? I just called Craig, our QOV Longarmer, and he hasn’t started quilting it. Whew, its not too late, I can fix it.
Sandy, in Central Florida, is moving away and has 3 large tubs of good-quality fabric (some cotton, some linen and wool) to give away. She also has a storage unit filled with YARN to give away. If you are interested in this (free!), email her at SandyRTrust@gmail.com.
You may not know that the Calendar page on the website is a quick way to view upcoming events all over the state. Give it a look-see.
Happy Quilting,
Mary-Jeanine
PS: I’d love to hear from you, so drop me a line sometime.

MONTHLY FREE ONLINE LEARNING
Join ME! (Mary-Jeanine Ibarguen, your Editor) each month for a free hour of ‘Tips, Tools & Techniques Club’ on Facebook Live. Good news: you don’t need a Facebook account to watch. And we keep the video up afterward so if you can’t make it at 10am on the 4th Saturday of each month, you can watch it later on. But you may miss the 15% shopping discount code for the weekend!
This all happens at The Sewing Studio in Maitland at 10am every 4th Saturday. Until we can resume Face-to-Face, we’ll be hosting this event on Facebook Live.
I talk about my latest quilts and quick projects, and pull even more projects from my 12 years of past Club meetings. Pro-Tips, Tools I cannot live without, and Techniques to improve your sewing life. I include sewing tips, some embroidery and serging tips, and hopefully I inspire you to dive into that beautiful stash of yours to make something wonderful!
