Quilting
Friends,
Big
news for anyone in Central Florida…the Quilts and Other Comforts Quilt Shop in
Mt. Dora should be open mid-April, with a Grand Opening Week by the first of
May. Suzan is hard at work setting up
the beautiful old home with over 2000 bolts of fabric, patterns, books, videos,
computer software and notions. Time for
a road trip! The address is 947 N.
Donnelly Ave. Mt. Dora.
Did
you know that the Statue of Liberty was created in the likeness of Isabella
Singer in 1884? This and other
fascinating facts can be found on the history page at www.singershop.com. Also, If you have an old Singer sewing
machine like I do, you can find out exactly when and WHERE it was made! (Mine was built in 1935 in Elizabeth, New
Jersey). If you’ve lost your Singer
manual, you can print them off the website for free! (Doncha just LOVE the internet?) Check it out.
Here’s
another neat animation of a sewing machine doing its thing:

And
if you made it this far, a quote that really speaks to me:
"The
purpose of life is not to be happy. The
purpose of life is to matter, to be productive, to have made a difference that
you lived at all. Happiness is self-fulfillment and is given to those who use
to the fullest whatever talents God... bestows upon them."
