PELICAN
QUILTWORKS IS MOVING
Pelican
and the Sewing Academy are moving to a new location! Now...don't get upset
yet...we will only be 1 block north on Beville. The move will take place the
last week in September. We will have a big grand opening event Oct 1st. We expect to see all our old friends that
we haven't seen in a long time! We want you all to come and celebrate with us.
The new location has 2 classrooms and lots of wall space to hang our
quilts. We are so excited...and
nervous...and excited...we just don't know what to do first!! We will suspend
classes in September to make the transition but watch out because October's
schedule is gonna be a knock your socks off... check out our website:

new address is 917 Beville, South Daytona, Florida. It is approx 2/10's of a
mile east of Nova on Beville. The sign for the Gallery Salon is the driveway

QUILT
RETREAT IN OVIEDO
MYSTERY
WEEKEND - The next retreat is scheduled for Feb 28, 2003 to March 2, 2003 at
the Canterbury Center in Oviedo. The
cost is $325 and includes 2 nights lodging (double occupancy only), all meals
(Friday dinner thru Sunday lunch), mystery pattern and instruction, bingo, door
prizes and lots of fun. There will be 24 hours of beverages, chocolate, fresh
fruit, chocolate, and nibblies. Did we
mention chocolate?

out the sign up sheet and send with your $200 deposit. We will begin accepting
deposits on October 1. The retreat is
limited to 28 participants due to space limitations. Registration is open until the twenty-eight spots are filled.

Central Florida Fair is thrilled to announce the addition of the American
Quilter's Society's "United We Quilt" traveling exhibit to our
Creative Arts Exhibit. The "United
We Quilt" exhibit grew out of the events of September 11th. In times like these, quilters quite
naturally turn to needle and thread, and quilting can bring great comfort, not
only to those who make the quilts but to those who view them as well.
Twenty-four
quilts, ranging from traditional to artistic, somber to humorous, will be
displayed from February 27-March 9, 2003, at the Central Florida Fairgrounds,
2603 W. Colonial Drive, Orlando, Florida.
The
Central Florida Fair is a not-for-profit organization that provides community
grants and scholarships, while entertaining 240,000 fairgoers annually.
