Quilting
Friends,
You
may know that I’m lucky enough to be the Show Chairwoman for one of the best
quilt shows in Florida, Quilt Magic 2004.
Although it will be held on January 23rd and 24th
of 2004, we are of course calling for quilt entries between now and December 20th.
You
may NOT know that anyone can enter their quilt in this judged show, not just
guild members. This means you! It is easy to get an entry form, just go to www.CFQG.com and click on QUILT MAGIC. You need the free Adobe Reader to download
the entry form, and if you don’t have it, there is a link for that as
well. On our website, you can also see
who the judges are, our vendors and other pertinent info. We do love to see quilts from other parts of
Florida, so please consider entering one or more of your quilts.
If you haven’t had a chance to peek at our Donation Quilt, now is a good time. Tickets will be available for a donation of $1 at various quilt shops in Central Florida and of course at the show. I’m dropping off the quilt this week at Pelican Quiltworks in Daytona Beach for up-close viewing.
-------------------
I’ve been looking on the web for a new area rug and found a few rugs that are copies of some famous quilts by Michael James, Jane Sassaman and Gai Perry. What fun!
Check it out: http://tinyurl.com/va94
Finally, I’m
using some new software to send this newsletter out. Because so many people were not receiving this newsletter because
their email programs think I’m sending spam (!), I’ve had to actually spend
real money to purchase a program to bypass those problems. Let me know what you think.

SHARING
NATIONAL QUILT TEACHERS
[Ed.
note: I’m re-running this because the contact email has changed]
How
I do enjoy your newsletter! I am on the
Education Committee for the Peace River Quilters in Punta Gorda, FL. March 4 and 5, 2004, we have coming to our
guild, two good friends and absolutely wonderful teachers from the Midwest. Kay
Steinmetz and Kay Montgomery are also interested in teaching and lecturing at
other guilds while they are down here and I thought you might help me get the
word out. One of their lectures on hats
is so darn funny. Not only are these
gals excellent quilters and teachers, they are quite entertaining. If you need more info on classes they teach,
etc., I am happy to accommodate you.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
