good ol’ Stack-n-Whack, of which I am the Queen (really…I’ve made 13 plus this
one!) So if you purchase the kit from
The Sewing Studio, you will get a full page of additional sewing tips from me.
Announcement: Are you familiar with the John Flynn
Diagonal Quilt Back System for creating a piece large enough for your quilt
back without needing two entire lengths sewn together? The idea is to use a piece of fabric somewhat
larger than needed, cut it into two triangles, reposition the triangles and sew
them back together. Anyway, I have a calculator on my website
that is useful for that. I suggest you
bookmark it on your phone for the next time you’re at the store needing quilt
backing! Keep in mind it doesn’t work
for quilts wider than 66”. I just used
it today, which is what made me think you might could use it too.

BAZAAR IN TRENTON
Springhouse
Quilt Guild will be holding a Fall Bazaar on Saturday, October 12, from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lots of handmade items and homemade baked goods. The guild

Quilted Dragonfly LLC Quilt Retreat Schedule:
All
retreats are UFO. Bring your machine and supplies. You will be provided a 6’
table space with power. There will be cutting stations, ironing stations and
design walls to share. Bringing a light is HIGHLY suggested. There will also be
a “free” table for anyone who would like to put things out on it that they are
no longer using and would like to allow someone else to use. Leftovers will be
donated.

MYSTERIOUS SEWING SOCIETY CLUB
This new and exciting monthly club a subscription each month on the 15th, paid
one month in advance. . You will receive a beautiful mystery box
containing a FULLY CUT quilt kit. Each clue will include the directions,
and in some cases, a video of instruction.
There will be new and fun quilt-y treats included; maybe a ruler, maybe a
trinket or book or other new items. Four times during the year, you will
also receive a backing for your quilt..how fun is that! Each quilt will
be between child/throw and twin size and a total mystery. Limited
quantities are available.

Don’t miss the MYSTERIOUS SEWING SOCIETY RETREATS twice a year :
Mysterious Sewing Society Retreat #7: March 8, 2025. The hotel does not
offer a reduced price on rooms in March as it is high season in our area.
Mysterious Sewing Society Retreat #8: Sep 6, 2025. The hotel does
offer a block of rooms for this retreat and it is a nice reduced price for the
nights you stay.
These retreats are held at the Carlisle Inn on Bahia Vista Blvd in
Sarasota. They are a one day affair from 8:30 AM until 8:30 PM (check
with the hotel if you wish to stay overnight). When you sign up, you will
be given the fabric requirements and cutting directions and added to a private
facebook group so you can be ready to sew that day. Space is limited and
fills up quickly. The last retreat had 55 people in house (each with a
private table) and 10 online. Bring your tribe of quilters; it was huge
fun. Lots of exciting door prizes are provided by assorted
suppliers. It is a mystery using your own fabric….clear the stash!
Retreat #7 will begin a slightly NEW concept. You may choose the mystery
quilt, work on your own UFOs, or create a quilt from a pattern I provide for
the day. OR you may do all three if you choose! Let's shake this
baby up some.

NEW! THE MYSTERIOUS STITCHING SOCIETY CLUB
And to keep with the MYSTERIOUS theme we are now offering another fun
option/addition. The MYSTERIOUS STITCHING SOCIETY is a new and exciting
subscription box. The first edition is for a six month collection of
adorable vintage village houses and you simply add some simple hand embroidery
to each one. These finish at about 5" x 8" and can be used as
tree ornaments, framed, or perhaps create a small quilt from them. The
